Under the hood

What keeps a stablecoin
close to one dollar?

The answer changes by design. Explore the four common models.

Fiat-backed

Cash-like reserves aim to keep every token close to one dollar.

Users usually watch issuer transparency, redemption access, reserve attestations, and liquidity depth.

Risk, made visible

Stable does not mean risk-free.

Every stablecoin carries tradeoffs. Use these five signals together before making a decision.

Frequently asked

Questions are good.
Here are the clear answers.

AllStable is an educational MVP. Nothing here is financial advice.

01What is a stablecoin?+

A stablecoin is a digital token designed to track a reference value, most commonly the US dollar. Different stablecoins use different reserve and redemption models to try to maintain that price.

02Why do people use stablecoins?+

People use them to move digital dollars between wallets, access onchain products, settle payments, trade digital assets, or hold dollar-linked value. Availability and legality differ by location.

03Can a stablecoin lose its peg?+

Yes. Market stress, reserve concerns, weak liquidity, smart-contract problems, or redemption issues can push the price above or below its target. A stablecoin is not the same as insured cash in a bank.

04What should I compare before using one?+

Look at peg history, liquidity, reserve quality, issuer transparency, redemption access, network support, and smart-contract risk together. Price alone does not tell the full story.

05Does AllStable hold my money?+

No. The current MVP is an information and testnet experience. When you connect a wallet, AllStable only reads the public wallet address approved by your wallet provider and never asks for a recovery phrase.

06Is the wallet using real money?+

No. The wallet flow uses a test network and free test tokens with no real-world value. It is designed for learning before any future production integration.

07Where does the market data come from?+

The MVP uses CoinGecko's free public market API with built-in sample data as a temporary fallback if the free service is unavailable.

08What is the difference between USDC, USDT, and DAI?+

They target a similar dollar value but differ in issuer, reserve structure, governance, redemption access, supported networks, and market liquidity. AllStable helps surface those differences without recommending one.

09Is AllStable free?

Yes. The MVP uses free hosting, free public data, and free testnet infrastructure. There is no paid plan or transaction fee charged by AllStable today.

10Is this financial advice?+

No. AllStable provides educational information and market context. You are responsible for your own research and decisions.

11Can businesses use the AllStable MVP?+

Businesses can test payment requests, batch payout preparation, treasury controls, governance votes, and developer settings with free testnet assets. Production settlement, banking access, compliance services, and real redemption are not yet available.

12Does participation create financial returns?+

No. The MVP uses test activity points and local votes to explore future participation models. Points have no financial value and do not represent reserve income, ownership, or a promise of rewards.
